Lok Sabha Passes Triple Talaq Bill:- In a historic move, Narendra Modi's government passed the Triple Talaq Bill in Lok Sabha. The big majority in the house turned out a huge advantage for the bill to be passed. The fate of Triple Talaq Bill in Rajya Sabha is yet to be known and BJP believes that it would be passed comfortably over there too.The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2017 is all about protecting the rights of Muslim women from an instant divorce called triple talaq.

Muslim women and the activists of woman's rights have been fighting to abolish the practice of triple talaq from the past few decades. The person who follows triple talaq can be jailed for three years and huge fine can be imposed. The cops if received a complaint in triple talaq can investigate the case even without the magistrate's order. However some of the parties opposed the bill calling it doing injustice for Muslim women.
