Killed CRPF Jawans Were Returning From Leave:- In a heart wrenching attack, 44 CRPF jawans have been killed yesterday in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. The attack was massive that it was heard for 12 kms. The Jammu and Srinagar highway was blocked for a week due to bad weather conditions and now CRPF personnel started their journey once the way was open. The Jawans were returning from leave said Ashish Kumar Jha, CRPF spokesperson from Jammu. The convoy of 2500 jawans started during the early hours of Thursday morning from Channi Rama transit camp in Jammu.
The destination was 320 kms away and the CRPF personnel were expected to reach the Bakshi stadium transit camp in Srinagar before sunset. The attack took place nearly 30kms short of the destination. A scorpio rammed into one of the 78 buses and killed 44 jawans. Generally a bunch of 1000 jawans will be travelling but with the highway closed, 2500 CRPF personnel travelled in a bunch in 78 buses. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered probe and the investigation is on. The security has been tightened in the region. Jaish-e-Mohammed announced themselves responsible for the attack.
