Nirbhaya's Justice At A Stand Still - Rapist's Death Warrant Postponed:- A brave 23-year old girl who is named ‘Nirbhaya’ was viciously raped and killed 8 years back in a moving bus at South Delhi. Ever since her mother has been fighting for justice and there was a hope to receive justice today. However, the Delhi court postponed the execution of death warrants until the next order comes by.
The additional sessions judge, Rana, passed an order of plea by the rapist’s seeking a stay on their death execution. One of the rapists, Vinay Sharma, had filed a mercy petition to the President and it is still pending. Mukesh’s mercy plea was rejected by the President.
Earlier, the rapists were to be hanged to death on 22nd January. Further, the date got pushed to 1st February and now the court is yet to decide. The nation has a big question mark on whether justice will be given.
At Patiala House Court Complex in Delhi, Nirbhaya’s mother is torn apart and cried as justice is being postponed the second time. She hasn’t given up and will continue fighting for justice.
The four rapists are being supported by Advocate AP Singh. He has requested to withdraw the execution “sine die”. Arvind Kejriwal was disheartened to know that the rapists have been escaping the death sentence.
