SpiceJet Receives A Huge Shock From DGCA:- The recent incidents in SpiceJet flights left the passengers in panic. The DGCA asked the SpiceJet to operate with only 50 percent of its flights for the next eight weeks after some unusual number of incidents for the airline. In a reply, SpiceJet said that there would be no impact on its flights and there would be no flights canceled. The Director General of Civil Aviation issued a statement that told "In view of findings of various spot checks, inspections and the reply to the show cause notice submitted by SpiceJet, for the continued sustenance of safe and reliable air transport service, the number of departures of SpiceJet are restricted to 50% of the number of departures approved... for a period of eight weeks".

SpiceJet will be subjected to enhanced surveillance during these eight weeks told DGCA. This is the most stringent action imposed on any airline in the recent years in the country. The DGCA also issued a strict order saying that any increase in the number of flights by SpiceJet will demonstrate the satisfaction of DGCA. SpiceJet failed to establish efficient, reliable and safe service for the flyers. SpiceJet responded on a swift note saying that there would be no flight cancellations. "We are in receipt of the DGCA order and will act as per directions of the regulator. Due to the current lean travel season, SpiceJet like other airlines had already rescheduled its flight operations. Hence, there will be absolutely no impact on our flight operations. We want to reassure our passengers and travel partners that our flights will operate as per schedule in the coming days and weeks. There will be no flight cancellation as a consequence of this order," told the official statement of SpiceJet.
