Covid Restrictions: Karnataka Bans New Year Celebrations:- Considering the Omicron variant and the rise in the new cases, the government of Karnataka announced that mass gatherings and parties will not be permitted in the state from December 30th till January 2nd. The decision was taken considering the coronavirus scenario and the rising number of the cases due to the Omicron variant. The celebrations are permitted in clubs, pubs and restaurants with 50 percent occupancy or seating capacity told the Karnataka government. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai told this saying that the decision was taken after a Cabinet meeting.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that Disc Jockeys at the restaurants and the clubs would be allowed but they have to be operated with 50 percent occupancy. There should be no parties accelerated in the apartments and other residential places. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai also said that the full vaccination against coronavirus is mandatory to participate in the parties and the events during the New Year. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that he had a meeting with the experts and leaders through a video conference after which the call was taken. All the mass gatherings in public places are completely banned.

The total number of Omicron cases in Karnataka reached 19 after five new cases are reported in the last 24 hours.
