Women’s Pro Kabaddi League: Fire Birds Tied With Storm Queens 14-14

In a close game at Women’s Pro Kabaddi League 2016, Fire Birds tied with Storm Queens at 14-14 in match 3 at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Fire Bird’s captain Mamtha Poojari was the star raider of the night as she managed to score six crucial raid points for her team. Whereas Storm Queens’s skipper Tejawini Bai had a bad day.

Only three teams are playing the first season of the Women’s Pro Kabaddi League and  only Fire Birds have registered their win till now.  They had defeated Ice Divas in match 1. Storm Queens had beaten down by Ice Divas in their previous encounter.

In the firs half, Fire Birds raiders, struggled badly after their skipper sent out of the game in fourth minute, when Storm Queens were leading at 3-2. But, Storm Queens could only managed to gather two raid points in her absence. Once Poojari returned, by scoring two important points, she tied the game at 7-7.

 Defense of the both the teams was at its peak in the second half. Sakshi Kumari scored an important raid at 27th minute to give her team a crucial lead. However, Poojari, leading from the front, scored a raid point along with a bonus point to tie the game at 14-14.
