Make distance work

Long-distance relationships have a stigma attached to them. Surely, there are plenty of challenges in maintaining a loving relationship when the couple is living in separate cities. But, if one moves ahead from the stereotypes, anything is possible in this globally connected world. To make it stress free, it helps to follow a few simple rules.

As if our lives are not stressed enough already, many couples feel the pressure of distance in relations. Many don't sign up for it and yet, it happens at one point or the other. It is particularly prominent among double income households and army families. That is why couples should keep their phones close to their hearts. Making no compromises, the phone must have enough credit or call offers for an uninterrupted talk time. There is absolutely no excuse to leaving the bill payment or recharge work for later. The phone must be available at all times.

Lately, there is an explosion of methods used for communication. Skype is just one of the many. Using other modes of communication helps the relationship immensely. A sudden text message even in the middle of a meeting is a mood booster. It shows that the other person is thinking about you. While spontaneous messages are welcome, one must also set time aside specially during the day to talk. This is something even couples living together must do. Giving time and attention is one of the pillars of any relation.

To keep things romantic, one can order their partner's favorite food or anything that they might like to be delivered at their doorstep. This is very much possible in today's world. It goes without saying that one needs to be understanding and flexible with their partner. Everyday is not the same and the occasional glitches shouldn't be taken personally.

Distance can be made to work effortlessly.
