Indians face a clean whitewash against Australians. Yet another devastating story of failure, in Indian batting lineup, on foreign lands.
Another day of face down, for the Indian cricket fans unleashed on the fifth day, today, at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, Australia, against the Oz team. Team India effortlessly lost to Australia 4-0 in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series at Australia. Once again seniors fail to fire at the required moment, proves to be the main reason for debacle. Indians face similar music in a back to back series on foreign lands. India lost their last 8 overseas tests in a row making the team sink to third position in the test rankings, which they dominated, little before.
Australia’s Nathan Lyon and Ryan Harris proved too much for the Indian strong batting line up. Both claimed in between them 7 of India’s precious wickets. But Lyon heads the list of devastators after his haul of four wickets included the captain Virender Sehwag, Sachin and Laxman. Well nothing mush to talk about today’s innings as the match was unofficially decided on day-4. Australia defeat India by 298 runs and the Indians scored 201 all out in their unfortunate second innings. With his six wicket haul in both the innings Peter Siddle claimed the Man of the Match honors and Michael Clarke claims the Man of the Series with his huge tons in all the three matches. He alone made 626 runs in the series in 6 innings.
The Indian fans have to wait for the tri series against Sri Lanka and Australia to avenge their defeat in the teat series. the selectors have named the squad for the tri series, MS Dhoni will lead the team, G Gambhir, V Sehwag, R Sharma, S Raina, S Tendulkar, M Tiwari, P Patel, Z Khan, P Ojha, R Ashwin, Sharma (Right hand Leg spinner), U Yadav and V Arun.
India was in a similar situation like the Australian team was, when it lost the ashes series last year, against arch rivals England. But Australian team management took tough decisions, to overcome failure. And it has proved right. But will India learn from its mistakes and take a corrective measure, that’s a long way to go. As the next test series is due for Team India only in September. So till then at least let us forget the debacle and move further to cheer our team to win the ODI series. For close updates on the matches to come, keep watching. Until then it’s winding up from the cricket desk. AarKay
