Fourth Test ends in draw

The fourth Test between India and Australia ended in a draw, resulting in Australia winning the Border - Gavaskar trophy.  Australia in their second innings declared at overnight score putting India right away to bat at the start of the day. India needed 349 runs to win the Test in fourth innings. The visitors started quite poor as centurion KL Rahul was dismissed cheaply by Nathan Lyon.

However, Murali Vijay and Rohit Sharma showed some resistance. Shane Watson broke the stand of Rohit and Vijay.  Then chipped captain Virat Kohli, who kept the scoreboard ticking. Vijay in this course, completed yet another half century and just when he is looking for three figure mark, Hazlewood dismissed him. Kohli along with Rahane put on some runs but the Indian skipper got out looking for runs.

Suresh Raina again got dismissed for a duck but it was Rahane and Bhuvneswar Kumar who stood in the crease and helped India to secure a draw. Australian captain Steve Smith was awarded Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards.
