India have finished the game in style, without even batting for the second innings. In what could be considered a textbook definition of a crushing victory for the Indian team, they completely over played Australia in every aspect of the game leaving the opponents no room to win or even draw the game.
The first day was the beginning of sorrows for the Kangaroos where they had been crumbled to the ground immediately. Clarke probably with the vision of saving them some shame or taking control of the game with the bowling attack declared the game for a very low total. The bowling attack proved to be worthless before the partnership of Pujara and Murali Vijay who veered India past the 500 mark in two days.
After losing all wickets on Day 3 and allowing the Aussies to bat, Indians had not slackened off with their performance. As a team they made a valiant bowling effort to restrict Australia without even setting a target. The Australia were all out 137 runs before taking on the lead.
This makes MSD the most successful captain with 22 Test victories as opposed to Ganguly's 21 victories. This is also the first time ever a team declared the first innings and got innings defeat in the second. What a shame for the nation. Clarke blamed the whole team for being irresponsible and said that they will have no break before the next test and promised a comeback in the upcoming test. But will that be able to tackle Indian team who are high on skill and confidence with a satisfying 2-0 lead.
