Roger Federer exits US Open, Sania continues

Roger Federer surprised everyone by playing a 'self destructive' match at the US Open. He expressed that he faced a confidence crisis during his defeat against Spaniard Tommy Robredo in the fourth round of the tournament. Meanwhile, Sania Mirza entered the next round in women’s doubles.

Federer's exit has proved disappointing to Tennis enthusiasts, as he will no more battle it out with his rival Rafeal Nadal in the quarter finals. It was clearly not his day, as Federer made 43 unforced errors. He admitted that it was a frustrating performance, adding that confidence usually takes care of things one doesn't think about.

On the Indian front, Sania Mirza and her partner Jie Zheng advanced to the quarterfinals with easy wins, while Leander Paes and partner Radek Stepanek had to fight for their entry into the last eight of Men's doubles.
