Doors closed for Sunrisers to Playoffs

Sunrisers Hyderabad [SRH] defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders [KKR] have slipped its chances to make it for the Playoffs. Despite the change in captaincy, Sunrisers could not turn their fortunes. On Sunday it was a surprise call from the SRH team to change the captain just before the match and Darren Sammy came for the toss. Having won the toss, Sammy elected to bat first but the openers did not give a good start. Shikhar Dhawan's poor form continued and another opener Aaron Finch disappointed. Except David Warner, no other batsmen batted scored runs and allrounder Irfan Patan in the end provided few runs. Sunrisers ended at 142 runs in their innings.

Chasing, KKR lost captain Gambir early as Steyn stuck. But another opener Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Patan and ten Doeschate made sure KKR reached the target comfortably making its chances good for the Playoffs. KKR bowler Umesh Yadav was awarded with Man of the Match for removing three crucial SRH batsmen at the right time which eventually brought down the scoreboard from running.

Score details: SRH: 142/8, Warner 34, U Yadava 3/26, Shakib 2/22

                       KKR: 146/3, R Uthappa 40, Y Patan 35, Steyn 1/24
