India doesn't make too many movies for children

Yesteryear south actress Revathy Menon who went behind the camera for making films has said that India doesn’t make films exclusively for children. Revathy who is in Delhi to receive the National Award for the film “Red Building Where The Sun Sets” has spoke to the reporters on Wednesday.

The 45-year-old film maker has said that most of the films on children are produced from Asia whereas India produces not many films on these subjects.

Revathy has said that some people term Hindi awards as Indian awards and said that the National Award was the only Indian Award. She said that one will get to see the best film makers only at the national awards function.

It has to be mentioned here that Red Building Where The Sun Sets got the national award in the category—best non-feature film.

Notably, this is the third national award for Revathy. She said she would expect another national award after 10 years from now.

Let us hope that she directs many more worthy movies that throw light on the lives of children. (Phani)
