The Telangana agitation, aimed at achieving the separate state of Telangana, is ready to be taken over by the dominating leaders of the Reddy community of the region. It is now clear that KCR and his family members KTR, his son, Harish Rao, his nephew and Kavita, his daughter are all set to lose the grip over the agitation.
The agitation is very much there, live and active but it has also entered into an era of cold war between the Velamas and Reddys of the region.
The T stir was originally launched by the Velama family led by KCR who no doubt brought the agitation from its low profile lowest ebb to its present day high profile brand mark.
The agitation has very much ignited the hearts of Telangana people towards concentrating on the only aim of achieving the separate state but political compulsions for all major stake holders involved in the agitation have brought the caste considerations also to the fore.

The situation has come to a stage where the Telangana Reddy leaders, now directed by the ex-professor Kodanda Ram, whose original name Kodanda Ram Reddy, are readying themselves for a showdown with the Velama family of KCR.
The stand off between the Reddy leaders and Velama family is very much visible when KCR announced a sabbatical for the T stir till May in the name of examinations for the students and Kodanda Ram vetoed KCR by saying that there is no holiday and the agitation schedule would be announced shortly after a JAC meeting.

The other reason KCR cited for the holiday is that the Congress party is preoccupied with the elections in five states but the Reddy leaders are in no mood to buy the argument. They strongly feel that KCR has made his own arrangements in collaboration with the congress high command to continue his family’s (read Velama) domination in the Telangana state after its formation.
Now, the Reddy leaders of all parties of the region have already arrived to an understanding with Kodanda Ram on keeping the Telangana switch in their hands till the state is achieved.
This is the reason why Nagam Janbardhan reddy of the TDP and Jana Reddy of the congress are flocking to Kodanda Ram and are opposing the antics of KCR day in and day out.
Kodanda Ram has almost gained the upper hand in controlling the agitation and it was proved with the conduct of the Million March overruling the objections of KCR and family.
The moves of Kodanda Ram and other Reddy leaders of various parties will now be towards alienating the KCR family in the T stir and deal directly with the congress high command and the Centre so that the Reddy leaders will call the shots in the Telangana state.
