The Telugu Community of North America has advanced  the dates of its 19th convention. The 19th TANA convention would now be conducted between May 24 and May 26, 2013 instead of Independence Day weekend. The official note released to the media read that the TANA executive committee and board of directors unanimously approved the proposal to conduct 19th TANA convention during Memorial Day weekend.

It may be noted that for the past 25 years, TANA had been conducting the biennial conventions during the first week of July and for the first time, the change in the date was made.   TANA has also said that this change was made in the best interests of Telugus in North America.
