In a tragic incident, an NRI person who got stranded in Oman after he lost his passport, nativity certificate and other documents, died a day before the documents (that prove his nationality) reached Oman. Fifty-six-year old Madusudhan, notably, left for Oman way back in 1977. It was in 1983 that Madusudhan lost contacts with his family in Kottayam of Kerala. His brother Biju and other relatives tried their best to trace out missing Madusudhan but to no avail.
The poor man, who was just looking forward to return to India, breathed his last after he spoke to his mother and brother. It was through a social worker that Madusudhan got in touch with his family in India. Brother Biju who learned that his brother needed a nativity certificate to return to India, arranged for the same and sent it through courier. Exactly a day before the documents reached, Madusudhan closed his eyes forever.
Sources said that this person had to do all odd jobs to make his ends meet in Oman since he was not given a good job as he didn't have valid documents with him. It is one of the pathetic cases ever heard.
