Reacting to the Pakistani Government’s terming of the US military operation that killed the Al-Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden in its territory as unauthorized and unilateral, the US Administration made it clear that it would not make any apology to the Pakistani Government on the issue.
“We make no apologies on that count,” said White House officials this morning at a press briefing. “Laden was enemy number one for this country as he had killed many innocent civilians. Yes, no apologies please,” said the officials.
“The US has never been at war with Islam. The former president George W Bush and President Barack Obama said that repeatedly,” asserted the officials, adding that Laden was a mass murderer of Muslims and people of other faiths.
The White House officials clarified that taking action against Bin Laden does not mean denigrating the Muslims. “We respect Islam and Muslims,” they said.
