Kargil recommendations still not implemented after 13 years

Even as 13 years have passed since the recommendations of the Kargil Review Committee have been proposed soon after the 1999 conflict and yer several important ones remain ignored. Naresh Chandra, Task Force on the national security has woed on the same while he was proposing a few other new reforms to the security establishment.

527 soldiers have sacrificed themselves in Kargil, 1999 and the comments have not come unitl 13 years. He asked for justice to be meted out to honor the lives of those who put the integrity of the nation before themselves and fought at the Line of Control LoC in Kashmir to revert the Pakistani intrusion. Thursday is Kargil Vijay Diwas, which marks the anniversary of the official declaration of eviction of all intruders from Kashmir.

The Naresh Chandra Task Force was ordained 10 years after the KRC to review the recommenndations and the implemented proposals which would help in taking new steps to reform the security establishment. The suggestions are being reviewed by many other security agencies.
