Woman Abuse on Actor Nagarjuna in news for wrong reasonsHyderabad police on Saturday began investigations against leading Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna (Nag), who was booked for allegedly abusing a woman journalist and for criminal intimidation, as a journo filed a case against him.

Police updated that Y.Sunitha Chowdary (YSC), a residence of Jubilee hills is working as a freelance reporter and she is a member of A.P. Film Sensor Board.  She has filed a case that Nag insulted and used unparliamentarily words with her. Police sources said the police may question the actor and also record the statement of YSC.

YSC alleged that the actor had abused her in a filthy language threatened to kill her on Sept 29 at Annapurna Studios when she had gone there to cover shooting of the movie Damarukam. She also stated in her complaint that Nagarjuna threatened her for writing a review of his movie King and warned her not to write reviews in future.

Inspector Narsing Rao said that a case under Sections 506 and 509 of IPC was booked. The Sections are bail-able. He said there were a few other film crew members and costars present at the scene. We will question them about the incident. Legal experts said that Nagarjuna could face imprisonment for two years, if found guilty. Ms Chowdhary was not available for comment, while sources close to Nagarjuna said that he is not keen on making any comment. The sources added that Nagarjuna denies all the allegations made against him.

Actor Nag is famous across south India through his magnificent and emotional performance in Geetanjali (1989). The lady journo YSC, a review writer and film news reporter in the Hyderabad edition of THE HINDU. She also owns and runs a film website where she regularly throws pot shots at celebrities and their flicks and statements.

Insiders profuse that for quite some time YSC was persistently asking Nag for an exclusive interview but the later denied and asked her to attend along with other journos. During one such meet when she forced Nag for an interview, the embarrassed Telugu hero went out of control and hurled 'f***K off.' For the same reason, the journo got upset and started on a mission of showing her pen power.
