Conforming the vertical political divisions among the family members of the late YSR, YS Vijayalakshmi of the YSR Congress party and her brother-in-law, YS Vivekananda Reddy of the congress party, both candidates for the Pulivendula assembly seat, have avoided eye contact when they almost bumped into each other at a polling booth on the day of polling, let alone exchange pleasantries.
Generally, we find even bitter political rivals greeting each other just for courtesy sake when they bump into each other but it was clear with Sunday’s incident that Vijayamma and Viveka didn’t want that formality even for some public consumption.

YSR Congress Party leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has contested Kadapa Lok Sabha seat while his mother, Vijayamma has sought re-election from Pulivendula where she was pitted against her brother-in-law, Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy.
She was entering a booth in Pulivendula to cast her vote when she nearly bumped into Viveka who was coming out after casting his vote. But, they preferred not to look at each other.
At another polling booth, Jagan’s wife Bharathi looked the other way when Vivekananda Reddy greeted the women voters with folded hands. Bharathi was also in queue but she preferred to look the other way to avoid even an eye contact with her father-in- law.
