PRP legislature party ratified the decision of the party president Chiranjeevi to merge the party with the congress. Soon after the arrival of Chiranjeevi in Hyderabad Tuesday afternoon from Delhi, 16 MLAs of the party including himself, met under  his chairmanship and ratified his decision to go for the merger.

The legislature party adopted a resolution to this effect after Chiranjeevi had briefly explained the result of his discussions with congress president Sonia Gandhi and other top leaders in Delhi.

In a second resolution, the MLAs expressed their commitment to rededicate themselves for the welfare of the people of the state by working closely with the state and central governments.

The two MLAs who did not attend the meeting are Ms Bhuma Sobha Nagi Reddy (Allagadda) and Mr Katsani Ramireddy (Banganapalle). Both the MLAs have openly expressed their allegiance to the former Kadapa MP Mr. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and said they would sit as independents now in the assembly.
