Agriculture minister YS Vivekananda reddy had a secret meeting with the congress president Sonia Gandhi in Delhi today, according to sources. But, there is no confirmation of this news either by the party officially or by Viveka himself unofficially.

Viveka has been camping in Delhi for some days along with his son-in-law Narreddi Rajasekhara reddy for introducing him to Sonia and finalizing his candidature for contesting against the former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan reddy in the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat bye-election.

While Viveka has been camping in Delhi waiting for an appointment with Sonia, 30 Congress MLAs and MLCs of the T region have also been camping in the Capital for an audience with her to seek an assurance on the formation of separate state of Telangana.

Till now, Sonia has not given an appointment to them and they would get angry in case an appointment is given to Viveka. This fear prompted the congress bigwigs into arranging a secret meting between Viveka and Sonia. Reports said that Ahmad Patel, political secretary of the congress president, had arranged the secret meeting.

It is learnt that after talking to Viveka and his son-in-law Rajasekhara reddy, Sonia has approved his candidature to contest against Jagan in the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency. Viveka, who had already announced he would contest for the Pulivendula assembly seat against YS Vijayamma, is now back in Hyderabad.
