OU students begin mass fasting

telangana1Hundreds of students of OU today began their mass indefinite fast at the Arts College in the campus demanding Telangana state and removal of 14 F from Presidential Reference on zones.

Telangana political JAC convener Prof. Kodanda Ram and Telangana Employee Associations’ JAC leader Swamy Goud announced a day’s fast in support of the mass fasting programme launched by the students.

Meanwhile, police arrested several student leaders of the Kakathiya University in Warangal when they left for Hyderabad to take up indefinite fast at the OU campus. Some more students were arrested in different areas on their way to Hyderabad and taken to various police stations. But the students however launched their fast in the police stations.

Meanwhile, the TDP Telangana Forum, which is on its bus Yatra in Karimnagar, announced support to the OU students and warned the government of dire consequences if the police continued to arrest students.
