As an instant reaction to combat the heavy down pour, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. KIran Kumar Reddy visited the rain hit areas in the city and instructed officials to be alert for emergencies.
The state had seen massive rains the last 48 hours with the onset of the south west monsoon. The rain played the spoil sport evenly across the state.
The Chief Minister personally visited various places in the city to assess the damage and the difficulties faced by the people in the wake of continuous rains.
He immediately instructed the officials to get into action and be vigilant for any emergency. He asked them to ensure the safety of the people in the low lying areas.
He told the concerned officials to pump out excess water and clear all manholes, to avoid water stagnation.
He further asked the GHMC and R&B to be alert, so that any problem is attended immediately and to ensure that problems are minimized.
