The endowments department has banned strikes for six months in all departments of the TTD with immediate effect. Mr. Ramanachary, principle secretary of the endowments department today issued a GO to this effect.

The ban on strikes will be in force till March 23, 2012. “The step has been taken in view of the forthcoming Brahmotsavams of the Lord Balaji and the sentiments of the devotees,” said the endowments department.

Ramanachari said in a statement that the government took the decision to ban the strike as a precautionary measure to ensure proper maintenance of services to the devotees who visit the temple town during the festivities.
