Eenadu group chairman Mr Ramoji Rao today filed a petition in the AP High Court seeking quashing of its earlier orders directing the CBI, Enforcement Directorate and the state police to conduct separate preliminary investigation into the alleged illegal properties of former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and the alleged favours done by him to his allies.
He said he filed his petition at the suggestion of the Supreme Court which asked him and others to approach the High Court. “The orders were passed without giving us an opportunity to put forth our arguments and view points and without serving notices on us,” he said in his petition.
Ramoji Rao, TDP leaders Nama Nageswara rao and CM Ramesh filed petitions in the Supreme Court challenging the orders of the high court. But, the apex dismissed their petitions and suggested they can approach the high court seeking amending the orders or quashing them. The Supreme Court has also asked the high court to dispose of the petition with in 15 days of filing.
The high court has asked the CBI and other agencies to probe the allegations of illegal amassing of wealth by Chandrababu and his family members during his stint as the CM and the alleged favours done by him to Ramoji Rao and others.
The HC issued these orders based on a PIL filed by the Pulivendula MLA Ms YS Vijayamma who alleged that Chandrababu Naidu resorted to corruption and amassed wealth by favoring his allies like Ramoji and others in several projects during his regime.(JUBS).
