Eluru congress MP Mr Kavuri Sambasiva rao denied reports that he objected to the Congress high command giving a cabinet berth at the Centre to actor turned politician Chiranjeevi.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad today, Sambasiva rao said he never worked as a stumbling block in the mega star getting a cabinet berth. “For that matter, I never objected to any one getting a cabinet berth,” he said.

Observing he too liked Chiranjeevi, Sambasiva rao said he has no objection if the high command offers the PRP founder a berth in the Central Cabinet. “However, in such a case congress senior leaders also should be given cabinet berths,” said Sambasiva rao diplomatically, adding he has no differences with Chiranjeevi.

Referring to the reports that chief minister Kirankumar reddy and PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana had differences, he said he didn’t share the view. “Might be there are different opinions between them on important issues,” he said.

He said the state congress core committee, of which he is a member, would strive to achieve unanimity among state party leaders on important issues and also for strengthening the party. Speaking about the Telangana issue, Sambasiva rao said that the congress high command may not resolve the Telangana issue in the near future. (JUBS)
