Resuming his Rytu Poru Bata in Telangana, TDP president Mr Chandrababu Naidu today began the yatra from Lambadipally in Chigurumamadi Mandalam of Karimnagar district.
Mr Naidu will undertake a 16-km long Padayatra to Sultanapur touching the villages of Sitampur, Mulkanur and Kothapally of Timmapur Mandalam. As part of the Rytu Poru Bata, Naidu has been meeting farmers and trying to know about their problems.
The TDP chief has also visited dried up crops in several villages and inquired about the drought conditions. He is supposed to address a public meeting at Sultanapur at the end of the yatra.
As TRS and Telangana political JAC activists had threatened to stop his Yatra, police had arrested several TRS leaders and activists in Karimnagar district as a precautionary measure. Captain Lakshmi Kantha Rao, president of the TRS district unit, was placed under house arrest.
Earlier, when Naidu left for Karimnagar district via Siddipet and Husnabad, TRS activists tried to stop his convoy but police who were present in large numbers took the activists into custody. (JUBS)
