The ACB sleuths, who are on a raiding spree on the liquor syndicates in the state since Friday morning, have arrested several liquor traders and excise officials for collusion and running liquor syndicates today.
7 persons including four officials of the excise department were taken into custody in Visakhapatnam district.
The raiding teams have arrested Assistant Commissioner of Excise Mr Hanumantha Rao, CIs Ramakrishna and Koteswara Rao and constable Patrudu for colluding with the liquor syndicates. The ACB has also taken into custody three liquor businessmen Oruganti Eswar, Ganesh and Prasad for running liquor syndicates and selling liquor above the prescribed MRP.
While the officials have taken into custody 9 liquor traders in the Warangal district, 2 excise constables and a liquor trader were arrested by the sleuths in the Srikakulam district.
In Guntur district, the ACB officials have registered cases against two liquor traders Mr Srinivasulu and Subba Reddy for running liquor syndicates. (JUBS)
