Just like what Vijayawada Congress MP predicted, Congress party is leading in just two constinues while YSR Congress is heading towards the victory. In fact,  YSR Congress party is leading in 14 constinues and already won an MLA seat. The sympathy factor for Jaganmohan Reddy is one the main reasons behind people tilting towards YSR Congress, say experts.

Jagan's arrest by CBI at that point became a major asset to YSR Congress, opined the political observers across the country. This was even admitted by Vijayawada Congress MP Rajagopal. While it is known that late YSR has a political charm, he was always looked upon as a Congress man until Jaganmohan Reddy moved out of Congress only to establish a party in the name of his late father. A confusion was also visible among the public regarding the developmental programmes during YSR regime, said experts. Programmes such as Arogya Sri and pension scheme etc, which were implemented during YSR regime evoked good response. And Jaganmohan Reddy, when he moved out of Congress, to set up YSRCP even carried the developmental programmes list with him and said they were implemented by YSR.

While, according to experts, people were in confusion, Vijayamma throwing herself into campaigning stating that she lost her husband, and her son was in jail, apparently touched the emotional chords of the voters.  And the response can be seen in the form of bypoll updates:
