BC welfare minister Baswaraju Saraiah has made controversial remarks on the late chief minister YS Rajashekara Reddy. He has said that he would have not got this position had YSR was alive. He even mentioned that despite his continuous victory from Warangal as MLA, he was never inducted into the cabinet during YSR regime. He even said that he questioned as to why he was not given any portfolio for which, he said, he never got any reply. He even mentioned that caste politics ruled then, which prevented him from becoming the minister. To make a point he has even cited some figures, which was allotted to BC welfare, after he became the minister.
Will that be sufficient, question the political observers. They were of the opinion that problems of BC s would be vanished only when the dynamic BC leader Chiranjeevi adorns chief minister's post. They said people were convinced that no other leader other than Chiranjeevi could solve their problems. On the other hand, noticing BC vote bank, TDP and YSRC came out with electoral vows on BC welfare. So, the only option before Congress for winning BC s' hearts besides putting a check to opposition parties is by making Chiranjeevi chief minister of the state, they said.
One has to wait and watch whether Congress would realize the importance of BC votes in AP and the mega image of Chiranjeevi in public hearts. And when it realizes, it would apparently have no defeat in the state.
