The Delhi rape case has disturbed people across India. Not just in the national capital territory, people here in Hyderabad and different parts of Andhra Pradesh have been raising their voices against such barbarous incidents. Imagine, the city which is the capital of a country got tagged as the rape capital, what signals the government is sending to the world, was the main thing that many questioned us when we asked their responses on the recent shameful act.
The victim in the incident did all that parents normally would ask a girl to do-to go out in the company of a male in the dark, to board a state run bus-but still she underwent something that shocked everyone, said a person in Hyderabad who was all in tears when she spoke about this horrific incident.
The political big wigs will be busy discussing meetings, plans, strategies to coming to power, who will talk on these issues? Who will protect the innocent sisters of India?, were some of the common questions asked by many who suggested that it's high time that the Centre should intervene with immediate effect. A country can never boast of development when it's women undergo harassment, deaths and rapes, stressed a few more.
Need for new legislation:
The Centre should now at least intervene with immediate effect and do bring in a special legislation on rapes, said observers. They said legislation should be passes wherein a person found guilty of offence should be castrated in the public.
