The list of candidates for the election of the members of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council was made was got finalized by The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and APCC President Botsa Satyanarayana after a round of discussions they had with AICC President Sonia Gandhi and State Political Affairs Minister Gulam Nabi Azad.

Names of Pongulate Sudhakara Redday (Khammam), Shabbir Ali ( Nizamabad), Lakshmi Siva Kumari (East Godavari), Santosh Kumar (Karimnagar) and Kolagotla Veerabhadra Rao (Vijayanagaram) formed the final list of MLC Candidates. Name of the sixth MLC Candidate was not finalized yet which will be announced by Monday as Botsa said.

It seems that Chiranjeevi, Central Minister for Tourism recommended two candidates for one seat. He recommended Kotagiri Vidyadharao’s name and alternatively Goutam if the first one does not fit as per the caste and other adjustments. But none of them were considered.

Telugu Desam Party also finalized their list of MLC Candidates for three places. They are, Yanamala Ramachandrudu, Mohd.Salim and Samanthaka Mani. The existing TDP MLC Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, in whose place Yanamala was finalized by TDP, expressed his disapproval for removing him. He was unhappy for not informing him in advance so that he would have left it with respect. He says that he is not against the selection of Yanamal but for the removal of him from the list. All the same he expressed his integrity to TDP.

TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu who is in his Padayatra at Akiveedu in West Godavari District expressed his understanding for the feelings of Dadi. But, he says, that the decision was taken in the interests of the party and for social justice.
