Talking about the 2014 general elections that will be held by the end of next year, Telugu Desam party's President N Chandrababu Naidu said that he has no aspirations to be the Prime Minister of the nation.
Not that someone is offering him the seat directly, but he opines that there would be a situation similar to that of 1996 and 1998 repeating itself, judging by the current scenario. He is confident that there would be the Third Front in power by the end of the general elections.
He added that it was not clear when they would choose the PM candidate, either before or after the general elections, but it would be done according to a consensus.
"I was never an aspirant and even today I am not an aspirant," Babu who was monumentally important for the formation of United Front Governments in 1996 and 1998.
"When I am able to do this while in opposition, tomorrow, when we get good number of seats, naturally we can play our role. I want to see this great nation prosper. I don't have any doubt that if we do good politics we will become one of the best countries in the world," he added.
He opined that there were many other capable leaders in the nation today whose immense experience as a CM for more than three terms would come in handy for guiding the nation as the PM for the next term but he didn't reveal any names. "There are so many people. I don't want to name them today," he said.
He justified that the Third Front has a greater chance of coming to power since, "The Congress-led UPA is neck-deep in scandals while the nation is not accepting BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance). The regional leaders will come to centre stage. We are confident they will play a major role".
