India's first voter, cast his vote

Shyam Saran Negi, Independent India's first voter has casted his vote today in Himachal Pradesh. The 97 year old Negi became popular with Google's Pledge to vote campaign, has never missed voting since its inception.

Negi was spotted with traditional Himachal cap and the officials welcomed him with Shawl and garland. Negi after casting his vote, posed the index finger with ink to the media.

Shyam Negi is the best example who thoroughly believes in democracy. He voted for the first time at the age of 34 and was the first Indian to cast his vote in the tehsil of Chini.
