The Union government and Andhra Pradesh government have signed an agreement to provide round the clock electricity to the state of AP. From October 2nd AP will be having 24 hours power and for this the government will use 4,000 MW capacity from Vizag NTPC plant and 2,500 MW solar power from Rayalaseema districts. Union Power minister Piyush Goyal and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu exchanged the formal agreement this afternoon at the 100 days achievement of TDP government book release.
Addressing the media, Chandrababu said, this is our first step to attract more investors and only round the clock electricity, will bring more investments to the state. We are officially declaring that Hero motocorp will set up its plant in Rayalaseema which will give employment to 10,000 locals directly and indirectly this number could increase. AP CM also thanked Union Minister Piyush Goyal for his efforts to give 24 hours electricity to the state.
Later Piyush Goyal praised Chandrababu for his efforts and appreciated him for maintaining cordial relationship with the Centre. Piyush also said, NTPC will set up Rs 20,000 solar project investments in the coming years which will be a big boost.
