Prime Minister Narendra Modi is looking to reshuffle and expand his council of ministers and according to the sources, Goa CM Manohar Parrikar is expected to get Defence minister post and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi might also join the council. This will be the first reshuffle from Modi after taking charge in May.
Currently Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is the in-charge of Defence Ministry and he added that he is in there for temporary purpose. Goa CM Parrikar landed in Delhi yesterday and met National President Amit Shah and later Modi. However, Parrikar has denied about the reports and said, he discussed Goa issues with PM. Induction of Parrikar in union cabinet will leave a big space in Goa BJP as he is one of the vital leaders who played a crucial to bring the party into power in the state.
Insiders say that PM Modi is monitoring the progress of ministers and he will promote achievers and get rid off few who failed to meet the expectations.
