Don't Suggest Publicly: Congress

With the humiliating defeat in the recent elections, Congress party is low in confidence. At this critical time, many prominent leaders within the party, are rising their voice and also demanding for a huge revamp which can make them bounce back. Senior leaders like Digvijaya, Chidambaram and quite a few leaders have expressed their views before media and still waiting whether the Congress high command would do anything.

But contradicting this, Congress high command has urged its leaders to stop addressing the media, if they want to suggest something to the party. AICC general secretary Ajay Maken addressed the media yesterday and added, “All leaders should desist from giving their suggestions and views to the leadership publicly when there are various platforms within the party where they can put forth their viewpoints.”

This is not for the first time Congress has said to its leaders. Despite this, leaders were constantly ignoring the high command's order and are in media for wrong reasons. Shashi Tharoor is the only leader who was so far punished by the Congress high command. The former minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for accepting his challenge in the 'Swacch Bharat' program. He also responded to the criticism from the party for praising Modi and this has irked the Congress high command. Tharoor was removed from the AICC spokesperson post in October month.
