A man, who was caught stealing the mangoes, was murdered on Wednesday night, and on his refusal to pay the fine imposed.
According to the reports, Nakka Ramesh, 26, a poultry farm worker stole the mangoes from a farm in the Peddatandla Village in Malhar Mandal. Azmira Ravi, from Lambada Tanda, beaten up Ramesh and injured him severely for not able to pay the fine of Rs 1,000 imposed for stealing mangoes from his field. As the injuries are severe, Ramesh was identified to be dead.
A. Prabhakar, Manthani inspector, said that, “Ramesh agreed to pay the compensation in the beginning, but failed to keep up his word later. It was then, Ravi decided to kill Ramesh,” police said.
Ramesh, a married man is living with his wife and two daughters aged under five. After identifying her husband being dead, Ramesh wife lodged a complaint against Ravi and police registered it as a murder case. The post mortem of Ramesh was conducted at the Manthani government hospital.
Currently, police are in search of Ravi, who is away from the eye of police, after knowing the death news of Ramesh. It seems, Ravi’s wife is not in a position of sparing Ramesh, as the latter’s only bread earning member of the family was dead.
