Congress Vice President Shri Rahul Gandhi has turned 45, today. Congress workers are celebrating their leader’s birthday in a big way. This is for the first time in more than 10 years that Rahul Gandhi is in India on his Birthday. Scores of Congress workers celebrated the birthday of party Vice President Rahul Gandhi, who turned 45 today, with fanfare by bursting crackers and raining flower petals outside his residence.
Rahul's mother and Congress President Sonia Gandhi drove to his 12, Tughlaq Lane residence, to wish him.
Later Rahul drove to the Congress headquarters and met the party office-bearers and shared sweets. Dressed in white, a large number of workers from Congress Seva Dal had come to greet Rahul. Party supporters had brought a birthday cake, weighing 45 kg.
Celebrations come amid speculation that Rahul Gandhi might be taking up a larger role and become the party President by replacing his mother.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended birthday greetings to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who has turned 45 today.
“Wishing the Congress Vice President, Shri Rahul Gandhi a Happy Birthday. I pray for his good health & long life,” Modi tweeted.
