At least 6 people died and 10 are in a critical condition after consuming the fake liquor in Vijayawada.

Manufacturing the fake liquor, at the cost of innocent lives is not new. In the past, it took away several lives. Most of the fake liquors are being manufactured in the outskirts of the cities. Even after the officials warning, these fake liquor rackets are carrying on their activities continuously.  

Now, Krishna Lanka area in Vijayawada city had witnessed another such fake liquor selling bar.

A few of the victims fell unconscious, after drinking the illicit liquor at Swarna Bar in Krishna Lanka area in Vijayawada, this morning.

Reportedly, all the  victims are the daily wage workers, who had a habit of consuming liquor everyday, before going to work.

While 6 people lost their lives on the spot and while being transferred to the hospital, another 10 people are undergoing the treatment at a hospital. It is to be noted that, the bar is located, close to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's camp office in Vijayawada.

Upon knowing the information, the excise and also the local police, had started investigating the case, seizing the bar immediately. The officials are suspecting that, the bar sold the fake liquor, labelling them with the legitimate brands.

Speaking on the issue, the excise minister Kollu Ravindra assured to take the severe action on the culprits, involved in manufacturing and selling the fake liquor.

Even the local MLA and TDP senior leader Gadde Rammohan Rao had reached the spot and said that, the bar belongs to the former Congress MLA, Malladi Vishnu.

He further assured to provide the quality treatment to the victims, and also assured that, no such incidents, would be repeated in the future.

Meanwhile, the locals and the families of the dead and fell ill victims, have attacked the bar and destroyed the furniture over there. The issue went more viral after media’s entry and was calmed down, after the police interfered.
