Bus Falls into 200 Foot Valley, 24 Injured & 2 Killed

In a tragic incident, 24 people were injured when an APSRTC bus travelling Bengaluru to Kadapa from overturned on Guvvalacheruvu ghat road in Kadapa district. The bus fell into a 200-foot valley resulting in the death of two passengers.

According to the officials, the bus lost it balance and fell into the valley. The bus conductor B.S. Ratnam(45) ,of Kadapa depot and an unidentified passenger, were killed.

Soon after the accident, Kadapa OSD (Operations) B. Satya Yesubabu, Kadapa DSP E.G. Ashok Kumar, Kadapa Rural Circle Inspector B.V. Siva Reddy, Chintakommadinne Sub-Inspector Kullayappa and special party police personnel rushed to the spot. All the passengers were rescued.

Fire service personnel placed jockeys and lifted the overturned bus and rescued a severely wounded passenger who was trapped under it. They brought out the bus by deploying a crane. The injured passengers were rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences hospital in Kadapa.
