AP Legislative Council Votes Against Three Capitals

AP Legislative Council Votes Against Three Capitals:- The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council is dominated by Telugu Desam Party which is currently the opposition party in the state. On Tuesday, they opposed the resolution passed by AP Government on three capitals for the state. The council took up the debate for the entire day. Out of the strength, 27 members from TDP supported and 13 opposed the party. Nine of them opted out of the voting. Two TDP MLCs Pothula Sunitha and Sivanath Reddy voted against the resolution passed by the party. Another MLC Dokka Manikya Varaprasad resigned from his membership before the voting.

Samanthakamani and Satrucharla Vijayarama Raju have been absent due to health issues. The debate would resume today about the three capitals bill and the APCRDA Repeat Bill. TDP's main strategy is to delay the bill in the Council so that they can force the government to adjourn both the houses. In this case, AP Government will have to take the ordinance route. The Governor too cannot sign the ordinance when the bill is not passed in the Council. The ruling YSRCP is working hard to make sure that the bill gets passed in the Council today at any cost.
