Although it is too early now to decide, the results help one to estimate the strength parties are having at different parts of the State. It can be taken as a referendum of the people of the State to some extent. Municipal elections may alter the positions. And any decision at this time on the State whether to bifurcate or keep it united may alter the position of the Congress party.
The same way TDP’s silence on the Division of the State is bothering the leaders of Samaikyandhra movement. The decision of the Congress party may change the political scene for TDP also.
The results any how are closely watched by the political parties, leaders and general public interested in the politics. The results serve the political parties as a class test before appearing for the final Public Exams- 2014 General and Assembly elections. The results will make them concentrate on the improvement in the areas where they are lagging behind and work for the betterment where they are in the lead. That is the reason why the political parties are showing so much of interest in the Panchayat elections which are supposed to be independent of the influence of the political parties.
