Ganesh Chaturdhi will be celebrated on September 9th. Ganesh Chaturdhi also called Vinayaka Chavithi festival is special for Hindus of all walks of life. Ganesh pooja is the first to be performed in any pooja of any deity. Thus Ganesha gets first honors from the devotees as Ganesh is believed to have powers to ward of the ill luck and ensures continuation and completion of the task on hand keeping of which in mind as a desire a pooja is performed. And also Ganesh Chaturdhi is the beginning of big festivals in a row like Dasara and Deepavali.
In the Capital city of Hyderabad, Ganesh idol placed at Khairatabad is considered as the main place of importance and as such devotees from all the corners of Hyderabad and surrounding districts visit Khairatabad Ganesha at least once during the nine days festival of Ganesh Navaratras.
Khairatabad Ganesha is getting ready with a height of 59 feet this year to bless and give boons to devotees. As done every year, this year also Ganesh is going to appear with a different look. This time it will be Chaturmukha i.e., Ganesh with four faces (four headed). Along with the deity’s carrier rat, two cows are going to appear alongside of Ganesh.
