The Indian Railways have conducted a trail run for the semi-high speed service between Delhi and Agra today morning. This train is touted to be India's fastest train which will travel with a speed of 160 km per hour. Generally it takes two hours in train from Delhi to Agra but this fastest train will reach the destination in one and half hour.
The trail run was flagged from New Delhi railway station this morning at 10 AM and if everything goes fine, the railways is considering to run the service full time from November. Delhi-Agra way has 16 restriction areas and curves which may bring down the speed of train, so to ensure smooth ride, the railways is renovation the track between Delhi and Agra with a budget of Rupees 15 crores.
Railways have arranged a 27 km along fencing covering the track so that there won't be any obstructions in speed. If this plans of railways succeeds then, it is considering to launch semi-high speed services to Lucknow and Chandigarh from Delhi.
The Indian Railways is all set to touch milestones in coming days.
