Indian captain Mahender Singh Dhoni is under severe criticism for the humiliating defeat in the five Test series against England. Dhoni at the post match presentation blamed his top order batsmen who failed to give good start and eventually end in the losing side. However, Dhoni did not comment anything about his form who hasn’t scored a Test match century outside the Indian sub-continent till date.
At the press conference Dhoni said, “I was asked the same question in 2011. You will have to wait and watch to find out whether I am strong enough to cope with this loss or not,” to a question when asked he has any plans to step down from the captaincy.
Well one thing is for sure, as long as N Srinivasan remains in ICC Chairman post and rules BCCI, Dhoni might won’t step down from the captaincy nor he resigns. Even if Dhoni resigns, BCCI is ready to reject his resignation. So we can expect a new captain for the Indian Team only after the World Cup 2015, if India fails to defend the title.
