KFC to sue Chinese companies for fictitious allegations

The biggest restaurant operator in China, KFC said that it will sue all the three companies for spreading rumors on social media against it. KFC asked for 1.5 million yuan ($242,000) and unconditional apologies from each of the companies, who have said that the restaurant uses genetically modified chickens with six wings and eight legs.

Shanxi Weilukuang Technology Company, Taiyuan Zero Point Technology Company and Yingchenanzhi Success and Culture Communication, are the companies which operate in Shenzhen city and are being sued by KFC.

KFC with more than 4,600 restaurants in China has alleged that the companies were "misleading the consumer" on its Chinese-language website.

KFC said that they have stopped using meat from the supplier, Shanghai Husi Food. The Shanghai Food and Drug Administration had banned the production at Husi after an inspection. The inspection was followed by a TV report that has shown Husi reprocessing expired meat.

KFC has been in the wrong news for a long time in many countries. There were many allegations against KFC and the recent one being KFC served a fried rat instead of chicken. The brand has suffered a lot due to these allegations. Whether the allegations are true or false are to be seen. But in some cases the findings have come out and found that KFC is at fault. The global brand is alleged of serving rotten chicken, which is full of worms. I cannot understand why the brand is neglecting the safety and health of its customers.
