Bengaluru Molestation Case: Four Arrested Including Main Accused

The Bengaluru police on Thursday arrested the main accused involved in molesting a girl on New Years Eve in Bengaluru.

Sources said "police have also identified the main attacker in the case as Leno, a youth of the same locality who had been stalking the woman for a while. Leno, a B.Com student in the city, is among those arrested. The three others arrested in the case are Ayyappa, Raju and Chinnu."

According to the police, Ayyappa had accompanied Leno on a scooter. He waited while Leno molested and assaulted the girl around 2.45 am, on Sunday. Raju and Chinnu are also part of a group of youths who were allegedly stalking the victim and her friend.

"All the accused are residents of east Bengaluru and had interacted with the victim in different capacities", police sources said.

One accused is a courier delivery person while the other works at a hotel.

The victim is a student. She is from Northeast. She has given her statement but did not lodge a complaint with the police.

"The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed at a house where the incident took place. Police took up the case on Tuesday night after the CCTV footage was given by a resident. More arrests are likely in the case", said the police.
