Reliance 40th AGM: Jio Phones Offered For Free:- Reliance Industries is holding its 40th Annual General Meeting today at Birla Matushri Sabhagar at Mumbai’s Sir Vithaldas Thackersey Marg. Reliance Industries Chariman Mukesh Ambani stepped out with some interesting announcements made on the occasion of RIL completing 40 years. He said that the company has grown from Rs 70 crores to over Rs 330,000 which is almost 4700 times. He explained about the journey of four decades of Reliance. The shares of Reliance which values Rs 1000 in 1977 are worth Rs 16.5 lakhs each. Mukesh Ambani mentioned that this is all possible because of his father Dhirubhai Ambani.
Mukesh Ambani moved over to Reliance Jio and he said that it added 100 million customers in just 170 days. Here are the key highlights of his speech:
Jio now has 125 million customers and they have using 250 crore minutes of voice or data calls per day which is huge.
I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting Digital India.
Within six months of Jio launch, India went from 20 crore GB to 120 crore GB of data per month.
After the launch of Reliance Jio, India emerged as the largest date consumer across the globe.
India has overtaken the US and China in mobile data usage. Our country was 155th before the launch of Jio in mobile broadband usage and now it is number 1.
Out of the 80 crore mobiles used in the country, 50 crores are not smart phones. In the coming one year, Jio will cover 99% of the population for sure.
Reliance Jio is expanding physical distribution network and will have 10,000 Jio offices by September.
Introducing India ka Smartphone, JioPhone which is a dream for many. The phone supports all the Indian 22 languages.
Jio phone will be available from August 15th in market and the voice calls are absolutely free. Jio will provide unlimited data per month at Rs 153.
This is 1/30th of the existing prices. There are special sachets for Rs 24 for two days and Rs 54 for a week where the customers can avail unlimited calls and data.
Jio Phone can also be connected to your smart TV to enjoy videos and other content for four hours on regular basis.
The effective price of the JioPhone is ZERO, however to prevent the misuse, a one-time refundable deposit of Rs 1500 will be collected.
The Jio Phones will be available from September this year for all those who will pre-book it. We are targetting to release 5 million mobiles every week. The refundable deposit will be refunded after three years if the customer returns the mobile.
